Hey there, beautiful humans! Welcome to Slam Curl Studio — a space built on love, texture, and inclusion.
Yes, we’re all about curls (we can’t help it!), but that doesn’t mean we’re only about curls. For too long, curly hair hasn’t had the education, products, or respect it deserves — so we decided to create a salon that changes that narrative, while still welcoming everyone.
💛 What “Slam” Means
People always ask about our name — and it’s one of our favorite stories.
SLAM is family — literally. Our name comes from my family initials, and our hair patterns are all over the map and that diversity inspired our name and our mission. So, we built a studio that celebrates that mix — where no one’s left out and everyone leaves feeling like their best self. We stand for family, diversity, and inclusion. No two heads of hair are the same, and that’s the beauty we celebrate every day. Founded on family (SLAM), we’re here to uplift hair, empower confidence, and create a space where everyone feels seen and celebrated.

Sarah grew up in the hair business, her mother owned a salon here in Old Town Alexandria. It's fair to say this passion for hair is generational. Her Studio is her home and every human is welcomed like family. She provides a unique environment for her family, usually playing 90’s/2000’s hit lists for us to vibe and enjoy services to. Sarah loves to sculpt and shape your hair especially unique to you. Curly girls have been with her for 20 plus years. Sarah has always had a passion for helping people feel beautiful inside and out. Helping others fall in love with they're natural hair. Her favorite phrase is “If you've got frizz, you've got curl!” Let Sarah and her team help you find the hair you have been waiting for!
