Hey there, beautiful humans! Welcome to Slam Curl Studio — a space built on love, texture, and inclusion.
Yes, we’re all about curls (we can’t help it!), but that doesn’t mean we’re only about curls. For too long, curly hair hasn’t had the education, products, or respect it deserves — so we decided to create a salon that changes that narrative, while still welcoming everyone.

People always ask about our name — and it’s one of our favorite stories.
SLAM is family — literally. Our name comes from my family initials, and our hair patterns are all over the map and that diversity inspired our name and our mission. So, we built a studio that celebrates that mix — where no one’s left out and everyone leaves feeling like their best self. We stand for family, diversity, and inclusion. No two heads of hair are the same, and that’s the beauty we celebrate every day. Founded on family (SLAM), we’re here to uplift hair, empower confidence, and create a space where everyone feels seen and celebrated.

Welcome to SLAM, Old Town Alexandria, where all are welcome! Originally established in 2011, SLAM was brought to life through dedication and pure determination. SLAM is a full-service salon, offering color, highlights, fashion colors, master cutting for all hair types and more.
Our studio and salon family are THE VIBE! The air Is filled with love, upbeat jams and creativity. SLAM is our home, where all humans are welcome!

Hello, I’m Sarah. I am a blessed mom of three and married to my best friend. As well, I am Small Woman Owned Business Owner, Entrepreneur, Creative Director and Master Stylist of SLAM Curl Studio, Old Town Alexandria.
Growing up in my mother’s thriving salon, it’s fair to say my passion for hair is generational. I love to sculpt and shape hair that is as unique as you! Having over 25 years with my hands in hair, I must say, my most exciting responsibility is helping others feel beautiful inside and out! Falling in love with their natural hair is what I do!
Favorite phrase,,,’If you’ve got frizz, you’ve got curl!’ Regardless of if you have curly, wavy or straight hair, we have a stylist for you!

Diondra here! I’ve thrived 30+ years in hair care. My favorite part about doing hair is seeing my client happy and confident! As a local Washingtonian, I’m happy to do what I love in our neighborhood communities.
Travel? YES, PLEASE. Ive ventured to more than 30 US states and six countries. I love getting my passport stamped!

Hellooo beautiful Divas! My name is Kathy, I am a proud Latina and DMV local. My passion for hair started 7 years ago, joining the SLAMfam in 2021. I’m a curly specialist! I love to make curls nice and juicy and will serve you a mind-blowing voluminous blowout. In addition, I enjoy having fun with color and highlights. I am a mama of two kitty cats, love to travel and catch a sunset walk. I’m a girls’ girl… so, each and every one of my clients are like family to me. My passion for hair, curls especially, came from growing up and not understanding my own curls. Breaking down the process and sharing my knowledge with clients brings me much joy! One of my favorite things is seeing clients learn to embrace and love their curls.

In addition, I enjoy working with less dense, finer hair and helping each client feel like their best self! Customizing every salon experience for each client is my fav! I am originally from Alexandria and love to spend time in DC and walking GW Parkway.
